BETWEEN THE POLES
In our universe, there is motion and stillness, light and dark, but could there be a third state? Physics teaches us that current arises from contrast, from difference, a dynamic in constant flux. Similarly, life unfolds through dualities that cannot be resisted, only moved with.
This series explores that motion: not only between light and shadow, but between body and soul. To reflect this invisible rhythm, I worked with everyday, unposed bodies and introduced a layer of distortion using sheer fabric, backlit by diffused light. The result is a shifting field of silhouettes, not frozen forms, but expressive traces that blur the edges of identity, motion, and presence.
Their gestures, intimate, reaching, folding, suggest the soul attempting to synchronize with the body. The canvas veil becomes a membrane where light, flesh, and meaning interact. It is in this between-space, this luminous tension, that something deeper flickers into view.
